The unladylike explicative that burst from my lips upon the realization that this book was over says it all. However it is not a word used in polite company and I will therefore leave it to your imagination. This book is an edge of your seat kind of incredible ride unlike any others you have taken before. The range of the cast of characters is immense and includes werewolves, faeries, necromancers, and an occasional god or two amongst many many more. I have no idea how Asher keeps up with this crazy cast or how they all live peaceably in his head.

This book is catnip for the imagination with its intricate descriptions of the characters, the battles, and the death of a beloved character which I will obviously not reveal because I don't want to spoil it for you. This book is truly a work of art for the mind of the reader.

All of the characters are so well developed with extensive and unique back stories which could really appear into novelettes with a snap of Asher's fingers (HINT HINT) These characters are a beautiful representation of an amazing world created by the mind of an incredibly gifted wordsmith who is very dedicated to his craft. I would love to hang out with these guys if it were magically possible.
If you are into syfy, adventure, fantasy, world of warcraft, gaming, dungeons and dragons, mythology, or if you just really want a good action packed read with a touch of comedy woven through it then this is absolutely the book for you. I will further go on to say, that this book is an awesome read for anyone.

Wolves and The River Stone by Eric Asher

Oh Phillip Phillip Phillip....What can I say. You are friggin evil. This book takes you down the rabbit hole of necromancer depravity with the evil Phillip wreaks on the world. There are poignant moments and funny moments and moments that make you want to shake someone and say what are you thinking man? As always Vesik is ready to come in with his motley cast of characters to save the day. (wouldn't you want to rescue your mother from an evil necromancer? just sayin...) I am truly an Asherite in my love for these books. I love that there's a warmth of family woven through this as well as comedy to break up all the darkness in this book. Eric's artistry for character creation is unmatched and the characters are amazing and intricate, unique, and beautiful and well crafted in every way. His story line is complex with lots of twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

How could anyone not love this book? Days Gone Bad by Eric Asher

Synopsis:

Vesik, Book

Days Gone Bad
My name is Damian Valdis Vesik. I am a necromancer, an ability feared and hated as much as the powers my master and I set ourselves against. We've vanquished many evils, but now something is releasing an old darkness, forcing us to hunt an enemy beyond anything I’ve faced before. I was already busy enough with vampires, fairies, witches, Watchers, weddings, and … damn, I need a vacation.

Review:

How could anyone not love this book? With a complex set of characters and an incredible talent for sarcasm Days Gone Bad is on the top 5 for my favorite books. Days Gone Bad has a complex cast of characters including Damien and Samantha (Necromancer and Vampire in that order) Three awesome fairies Foster, Kara, and Adine an old Necromancer named Zola (who's totally awesome) and two Cusiths for a starting cast . I found myself laughing at the humor between this odd family of characters. The fierce loyalty of the characters to one another that was a common theme through the book was awesome and shows that family doesn't always come in blood related form. Their first adventure together had so many twists and turns and holy.....moments I kept turning the pages. ***Warning this book is extremely hard to put down***** Eric Asher is an incredibly talented writer with a craftsmanship for stories that is exceptional. I highly recommend this series and all of Eric Asher's books to anyone who loves to read!

Bound by Juliet Braddock

Review of Bound By Juliet Braddock

I had never read a BDSM book before so when my friend recommended Juliet Braddock's books to me I didn't know what to expect. Me thinking that the dungeons you see on CSI and NCIS are the standard of practice for those who like BDSM. I was totally wrong. Bound by Juliet Braddock changed my mind about BDSM books forever. While BDSM paints a picture of a dark red room full of black clad leather bodies Juliet's book shows a lighter side, a side where it also includes love and playfulness. I read the scenes and I was like whoa was I ever wrong, the tenderness that Drew showed Maxine (my favorite sassy character) showed for each other in their play and in their lives outside of their dungeon were amazing. Drew who's an actor has this heart of gold that you instantly fall in love with. He is so attentive to Maxine's every whim in the bedroom...except for when she's pregnant then she doesn't always get her way. His gifts for her are so well thought out and he needs to give boyfriend / husband lessons to every man in the world because when they made Drew they broke the mold! I think my favorite scene in the whole book and there were many I absolutely loved was Maxine and the funeral but I can't tell you why because it would spoil it. I found myself laughing in so many places at the trouble that Maxine got in. The ending of the book was completely amazing and such a perfect epilogue. Juliet's characters (Ben comes to mind) are so very different and all have incredible depth. Having only read this book I don't know the backstories, however I plan on reading the rest of the series as well. This is such a wonderful read and Ms. Braddock is an amazing writer you smile, laugh, cry and punish right along with the characters all in a good way. You live the story and the world building is really incredible you can really see everything in your head and that's what I look for in a good story. This is an excellent book and I would highly recommend it even if you've never read BDSM books. It's a marvelous steamy read that will leave you begging for more.

Four Winds Series
Anne Conley

The Four Winds is a series of stories by Anne Conley of God's archangels: Uriel---the archangel of destiny, Rafael-the archangel of healing, Gabriel-the messenger, and Michael-the angel of war. Watch as each one defeats the devil, known as Damien, who thinks he's entitled to their brides. See their struggle as they experience humanity for the first time in the name of love. Warning: contains elements of Christianity, coupled with some sex scenes, and what people may consider heretical viewpoints.

Falling for Heaven

Uriel is one of God's Four Winds, the Archangel of Destiny. He has helped thousands of people throughout the ages find their destiny according to His will. This time however, what he doesn't realize, is that it's his own destiny he's supposed to fulfill.

Heather is an exotic dancer, who's stage name is Heaven. It's not that that's what she's always wanted to do, it's just that it helps her pay the bills, and she's got a lot of bills, with taking care of her mother and her sister. When the mysterious Uriel comes into the club, she can tell he's different, just how different will rock her world...

Falling for Grace

Rafael is one of God's Four Winds, the Archangel of Healing. He has answered the countless prayers for healing of loved ones, wondering what it was about the emotion that made humans willing to sacrifice so much.

Grace is a lifeguard who has been on Rafe's radar since she lost a little boy three years ago. What she doesn't realize is the green haze that comes over her during a rescue is actually a divine presence who's about to give up his celestial body to become a very real entity in her life.

While Grace is trying to overcome her own demon, Rafe is discovering his own sexuality, but there's a darker presence making himself known. The Deceiver wants what Rafe is getting, and he'll do whatever it takes to have her.

Falling for Hope

Hope is an eccentric librarian who lives with her five cats and loves to spend her time fantasizing about living in a world of shape-shifters, vampires, and fairies. Although the existence of a paranormal world is far from Hope's reality, she can't help but sense there's something different about the mysterious man lurking in her library.

Gabriel is God's Strength, the Messenger, who's been tasked with delivering the Word for millennia. His most recent assignment will be his last, to fall in love and become human. But he can't quite figure out what he's done to displease the Boss. Gabriel's latest assignment might be the hardest, but this gorgeous rubenesque quirk of a woman definitely has him intrigued.

Falling for Faith

i

In this, the fourth book in the Four Winds Series, the story is more intense, Damien is more intense, the sex is more intense. The entire series thus far has escalated into this, the archangel of war's story.

Michael, the archangel of war, is pissed. Humanity has taken every last vestige of any feelings he might have had and colored them in with cynicism. He's ready to be done. So when The Boss gives him the deal, he's eager for his mortality, at any cost, regardless of who he has to 'fall in love' with to get it. Blessed death. That's what he's looking forward to. When he finds out what Faith does for a living, he's pissed off all over again.

Faith is a cat burglar, but when she inadvertently makes a deal with Damien, Michael steps in to protect what is rightfully his. She's not over her own tragic past, and this hulking bundle of hotness can't change that. But when he insists on protecting her, claiming her, and dominating her, she is powerless to deny her own emotions.

For mature audiences. Contains swear words, sex, elements of BDSM, and possibly heretical viewpoints.

Falling for Cyn

Damien is bad-the original Evil. Satan from Hell on Earth has been his identity since forever. The Devil. Beelzebub. Minister of Evil. Prince of Darkness. Lucifer. Old Scratch.

He's never been given a choice in this prison of fate, but it's his turn now.

Hell is about to meet his match. When Damien gets a woman, the only underworld he's ever known changes. She's chosen for him, but she's enough…

Cynthia doesn't believe in Hell; she believes in kindness and science, and the greater good. She's perfect, and pure and…

dying.

But she's his.

And he'll move Heaven and Hell to keep her.

This is Anne Conley's final installment in the Four Winds series.

Night Pleasures by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I really enjoyed this book, honestly I read it after reading the controversy with another series and I found that I've quickly fallen in love with a new group of books by a very talented author. Sherrilyn Kenyon's writing is fast paced and quickly draws you in. I love the different characters and the camaraderie among them which can have very funny twists and turns. I also found myself really liking Nick and when I saw she wrote some books on him I'm going to be reading them soon, he's a fabulous character. This is a wonderfully twisting turning story which kept me up till 3AM because I needed to know what happens next. I read it in 2 days! I will be going back to the library to read the next one for sure. I absolutely love this book and I am not a romance novel person but this is a dark sexy romance that will really get your blood going! I absolutely love Kyrian the tormented Greek Darkhunter with the body of a beautifully carved god. This is one heck of a ride and one amazing read. I highly recommend it.
